According to a recent poll from Freedom Economy Index, over half of employers say more than 25% of their employees also hold a second job outside their workplace.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">More employees are now\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">holding<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0multiple jobs across different companies,<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0according to recent data from a survey of over 80,000 US small businesses.<\/span>\u00a0<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A lot of<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0analysts are scratching their heads when the Bureau of Labor Statistics comes out with these unexplainable elevated jobs numbers every month, and perhaps this gives us a good clue as to what\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">really<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0happening,\u201d said RedBalloon CEO Andrew Crapuchettes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Need a Second Job?\u00a0 Make it a Home Business<\/span><\/em><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">There are now over 33.2 million small businesses in the United States, and that number is growing every day.\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In fact,<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0every 12 seconds,\u00a0a new home-based business is started, and as more and more\u00a0people find they need a second income, more also become interested in starting their own business. Home-based\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">businesses<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0are\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">now<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0booming, and here are some key statistics from\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businessdit.com\/home-based-business-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">BusinesDIT<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">51.6% of all US small businesses are home-based businesses.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">According to the SBA and\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">reported by NYSED<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, only 20% of home-based businesses fail.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">With 33.2 million small businesses, approximately 15 million of which are home-based.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">69% of startups are home-based businesses.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Every 12 seconds, a new home-based business starts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">59% of home-based businesses are still run from home three years later.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">60.1% of home-based businesses are non-employers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Home-based businesses generate\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">$427 billion<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0in revenue each year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">44% of home-based businesses\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">are launched<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0with less than\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">$5,000<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">70% of home-based businesses succeed in three years, compared to 30% of traditional businesses.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Consider Making That Second Job a Consulting Business<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Even though the job market is witnessing a shift towards more flexible work-from-home options, there is an increasing inclination towards\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">a move to<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0self-employment.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 10% of the American population considers self-employment\u00a0to be their choice of career path. With the growing inclination towards home-based businesses and the rise of entrepreneurial enterprises recently, more and more people are realizing the importance of investing in a more stress-free lifestyle.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Consulting is a fast-growing option for home-business seekers.\u00a0 Even if you don\u2019t have any hardcore technical education, you can still start a consulting business based on anything you are good at or something you can readily learn.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0means that\u00a0to start a consulting business at home, you only need to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">choose an area of expertise you are proficient at an<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">d\u2026<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">have a\u00a0solid drive to provide that expertise to others willing to pay\u00a0for it.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A job in consulting is\u00a0easy.\u00a0All you have to do is\u00a0think about specific financing problems\u00a0you can help others solve.
